「太平洋で出会った朝鮮人売春婦は全員自発的に売春をしているか、親に売られた者だった。これは朝鮮では通常のことだったが、もし日本人が直接朝鮮人女性を徴用したら朝鮮人は激高し、老いも若きも看過しなかっただろう。男は怒りに駆られて決起し、どんな犠牲を払おうとも日本人を殺しただろう」

All Korean prostitutes that PoW have seen in the Pacific were volunteers or had been sold by their parents into prostitution. This is proper in the Korean way of thinking but direct conscription of women by the Japanese would be an outrage that the old and young folks alike would not tolerate. Men would rise up in a rage, killing Japanese no matter what consequence they might suffer.
